SELLUSTRA LIFE

Planning and implementation of integrated methods for restoration of the catchment in Val Sellustra (Italy)

The "Sellustra Life" is one of the 19 Italian projects approved and funded for the year 2001 by the European Commission within the Community Programme "Life Environment".

The project appeals to Public Administrations and offers an example of implementation of innovative systems at low environmental impact in order to control pollution sources and riqualificate river environments. It includes the realization of constructed wetlands and bioengineering works, it promotes the use of buffer strips by farmers and the dissemination of implemented procedures and techniques to other Public Administrations.
